Neurotoxins

A neurotoxin treatment is a simple, non-surgical procedure that smooths the deep, persistent frown lines between your brows, forehead and crow’s feet that develop over time. One fifteen-minute treatment—a few tiny injections—relaxes the muscles that cause these frown lines between your brows and forehead to keep them relaxed for up to 4 months. We currently offer Botox, Dysport, and Jeuveau, all of which have been widely tested and approved by the FDA.

Full results take 2 weeks to develop at which point patients will follow-up with their provider to see if they need any additional units. Unlike surgery, neurotoxin treatments are fast, simple, and minimally invasive, with little to no downtime or recovery.

We participate with the Alle (Botox®) and Aspire (Dysport® and Restalyne®) rewards programs – let our receptionists know you are a member when checking out to make sure your visit is logged.

Filler

Filler treatment is a minimally invasive non-surgical procedure that provides natural-looking results by smoothing away facial wrinkles and adding volume back into the face. We currently offer a range of FDA approved Restalyne® fillers. The Restylane® family of products is a brand of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers specifically formulated to act like your body’s own naturally produced hyaluronic acid.

Depending on your volume needs, most Restylane® treatment appointments last about an hour and begin to work almost immediately by adding volume to smooth away wrinkles. Filler patients will arrive an hour early to receive topical numbing before their filler treatment. The natural-looking results will last up to 6-12 months.

Cosmetic Removal

Low Country Dermatology offers removal appointments for lesions considered cosmetic and non-billable by insurance companies. These lesions include skin tags, sebaceous hyperplasia (trapped oil glands), and seborrheic keratosis (barnacles). Our providers will tailor the treatments to the specific patient. Treatments can include Liquid Nitrogen, electrodesiccation, and excisions. Prices range between $50 and $150 depending on the number of lesions treated.

Ear Piercing

For patients looking to get their ears pierced at a healthcare facility, Low Country Dermatology offers ear piercing appointments. After the ears are pierced, patients will need to wash the piercings with soap and water at least once per day, twist the earrings several times per day to keep the holes open, and apply rubbing alcohol twice per day.

Morpheus8

Morpheus8 combines micro-needling with radio-frequency to stimulate collagen production and reshape the tissue under the skin. This treatment targets wrinkles, scars, and stretch marks on the face, neck, and body. This minimally invasive procedure uses a matrix of micro pins to renew deeper layers of the skin with minimal downtime.

Evoke

The Evoke is a hand-free non-invasive device that uses radio-frequency to tighten the tissue in your cheeks, jawline, and neck. Evoke is a great option for anyone who wants a quick treatment to target facial tissue without the use of needles or surgery.

PRP for Hair Loss

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) uses injections of a patient’s platelets to stimulate hair growth. To start the procedure the patient will first get their blood drawn. The blood is then spun in a machine called a centrifuge to separate the plasma from the red blood cells. The plasma, which is rich in platelets, is then injected directly into the scalp at the level of the hair follicles. For the best results, multiple treatments are recommended at least 4 weeks apart.

SkinPen with PRP for Hair Loss

This procedure is very similar to PRP, but uses SkinPen, a micro-needling device that is used to help the PRP reach and stimulate the hair follicles encouraging growth. The body’s healing response to the micro wounds acts as boost for the PRP.

VISIA Complexion Consult

The Visia Skin Analysis System is an advanced imaging system that provides an in-depth analysis of your skin. VISIA measures your skin pigmentation, pore size, and porphyrins (evidence of bacteria lodged in pores), as well as UV spots, sun damage, texture, and wrinkles. The evaluation reveals potential areas of concern and is used by staff to recommend treatments and products.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a procedure used to treat spider veins of the legs. Using a syringe with a tiny needle, Dr. Howington injects a small amount of a solution directly into the spider veins causing injury inside the unwanted vessels. Following the injections, patients wear compression stockings in order to compress the treated veins. The blood becomes trapped in the injected veins. The body then gradually absorbs the trapped blood, and the vein disappears over a 3–4 week period. 2–3 treatment sessions are often required to achieve a 90% or better clearing of the spider veins. The treatments are very safe and effective.
