California Governor Edmond G. Brown signed the bill into law on October 9, 2011 that would ban any person under the age of 18 from using tanning beds. This is the first state in the nation to ban the indoor tanning beds. Several studies have shown that indoor tanning beds increase the risk for melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer by 75%.
